PinMe
Effective September 28, 2026 · Last updated October 7, 2026

The short version

  • No account. You don't need to sign up, and we don't know who you are.
  • Your library stays on your device, or in your own iCloud. Saves, notes, files, tags, pins, pages and plans are stored on your iPhone, not on our servers. If you turn on Sync with iCloud, they are also stored in your private iCloud database, which only you can access; we cannot read it.
  • AI runs on your device when it can. AI pages and summaries use Apple Intelligence on your iPhone and are never sent to us or to any AI company. On iPhones without Apple Intelligence, Ask PinMe can answer with a cloud AI (Grok by xAI, through Kie.ai), but only after you allow it. You can turn it off at any time in More.
  • Saving a link talks to that platform. To show a post, your device asks TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or the site you shared for its public details and player.
  • Places and travel times come from Apple Maps. Your location is only used when you look at a saved place, and it is never sent to us.
  • No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and we never sell your data.
  • The external services involved are Apple (App Store, Apple Maps, Apple Intelligence, iCloud if you turn sync on), RevenueCat (purchases), Kie.ai and xAI (Ask PinMe's cloud AI, only if you allow it), Google's YouTube Data API (full descriptions of saved YouTube videos), and the platforms whose posts you save.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for the PinMe app (the "App") is the PinMe developer ("we", "us"). Contact: lailali.apps@gmail.com.

This policy explains what information the App uses, why, and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Spanish data protection law (LOPDGDD).

2. Information stored only on your device

The following stays on your device. We never receive it:

  • Your saves: links, titles, captions, thumbnails, and photos or videos you shared from your Photos and Files;
  • Trips you plan: days, times, the order of stops and the plans AI suggests for them;
  • Your notes, files, tags, pins, parts, emojis, likes, “Done” marks and plans;
  • AI pages written for your saves, and your edits to them;
  • Places linked to your saves;
  • Text and labels recognized inside your saves to make search work;
  • Your settings, including which tags are locked with Face ID.

Deleting the App deletes this data from your device.

Sync with iCloud. When you turn it on in More, your saves, notes, pages, plans and preview images are stored in your private iCloud database and copied to your other devices signed in with the same Apple Account. The photos and videos you imported stay on the device that imported them. Apple processes this data under its own privacy policy; we have no access to your iCloud data. Turning the switch off stops syncing, and you can delete the data from iCloud in iOS Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Storage.

Widgets. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets show a small copy of your upcoming plans, trips, quotes and recent saves, kept on your device only. Saves in tags you locked with Face ID never appear in widgets.

Sharing with a friend and backups. When you share a tag or a save with a friend, PinMe creates a link or a file holding the links, titles, notes, places and AI pages you chose to share, and nothing else. It goes directly to the app you pick (Messages, AirDrop, WhatsApp, Files) and never through our servers. The same applies to backup files you export: they contain your library and go only where you send them. Please treat a backup file like any personal document.

Importing your saves. When you import a data download from Instagram, TikTok or Pinterest, or a CSV from another app, the file is read on your device. Only the links you choose are then saved, the same way as any other link.

3. Saving posts from other apps

When you save a link, your device connects directly to that platform (for example TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, X, Reddit or any website) to read the post's public details through its official preview (oEmbed) or the page's public metadata: title, caption, creator, thumbnail and official player. PinMe never downloads videos or photos from these platforms.

The creator's own recipe or description. To write a save's notes from the creator's own words, your device may also open a web page that the post's caption links to (for example a recipe blog) and read the recipe it publishes for search engines. For YouTube videos, PinMe asks our server for the video's full public description, which it gets from the YouTube Data API. Only the video's ID is sent; no information about you is.

YouTube API Services. PinMe uses YouTube API Services. By using PinMe you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. PinMe does not access, store or share any YouTube account data, and you can manage access by connected apps at Google's security settings (PinMe never asks to connect a Google account).

When a saved post plays, it uses the platform's official embedded player. These platforms receive your IP address and device information, and may use cookies, under their own privacy policies. We do not receive the links you save or anything you watch.

4. AI features

PinMe can write a page for each save (for example ingredients and steps for a recipe, or key points for advice) and find the spot a post is about. On iPhones that support Apple Intelligence, this uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models. The save's title, caption and recognized text are processed on your iPhone and are not sent to us or to any AI provider.

Ask PinMe on iPhones without Apple Intelligence. Ask PinMe can answer with Grok, a cloud AI model from xAI, reached through Kie.ai. Before anything is sent the first time, the App asks for your permission, and nothing is sent if you choose Not Now. When you allow it, each time you ask, the App sends your message, the earlier messages in that chat and the details of the saves you attached (title, link, tags, place, notes, summary and recognized text) to Kie.ai, which passes them to xAI to write the answer. No account, name, email or device identifier is sent. Kie.ai and xAI process this data under their own privacy terms and may keep it for a limited time to run and secure their service. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time by turning off "Cloud AI for Ask PinMe" in More.

AI output can be wrong. You can edit every page, and your edits are never replaced unless you ask for a new version.

5. Places, location and Apple Maps

To put saves on the map, the App searches place names (such as a tag like @bali or a restaurant named in a post) with Apple Maps. These searches are sent to Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

If you allow location access, the App uses your current location only while you view a saved place, to show how far it is and how long it takes to get there. Your location is sent to Apple Maps to calculate the route. It is not stored by the App and never sent to us.

6. Device permissions

The App only asks for a permission when you use a feature that needs it. You can change permissions anytime in iOS Settings.

PermissionWhat it's used forWhere it's processed
Location (while using)Distance and travel time to a saved placeOn your device and Apple Maps
PhotosSaving the videos and photos you imported back to your Photos, optionally in a PinMe albumOn your device
Speech recognitionTurning what's said in videos you import from your device into notes and recipesOn your device, with Apple's on-device speech recognition when your iPhone supports it
Calendar (add events only)Adding a plan to your calendar when you askOn your device. PinMe cannot read your calendar.
Face IDUnlocking tags and pins you lockedOn your device by iOS. We never receive biometric data.

Text and image recognition inside your saves, including text shown across the videos you import, uses Apple's on-device Vision framework.

7. Purchases (Apple and RevenueCat)

If you buy PinMe Pro, the payment is processed by Apple. We never see your name, email or payment details.

To validate purchases and unlock Pro, the App uses RevenueCat, Inc. (USA), our subscription-management provider. RevenueCat receives:

  • a random, anonymous app user ID created by the App;
  • your purchase and subscription history for the App (product, price, currency, dates, trial and renewal status);
  • technical information needed to provide the service, such as your App Store country, app version, device type, operating system and IP address.

Legal basis: performance of the contract with you (providing what you bought) and our legitimate interest in preventing fraud (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)). See RevenueCat's privacy policy.

8. When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and the content of your message, and use them only to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing support (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). We keep this correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request, and at most 2 years unless the law requires longer.

9. What we don't do

  • We do not use advertising or advertising identifiers.
  • We do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • We do not sell, rent or share your personal data for marketing.
  • We do not build profiles about you or make automated decisions with legal effects about you.

10. International transfers

RevenueCat and xAI are based in the United States, and Kie.ai may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, it is protected by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where the recipient is certified, and/or by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

11. How long data is kept

  • Data on your device: until you delete it or delete the App.
  • Data in your iCloud: until you delete it from the App, turn off sync and remove it from iCloud storage, or delete your iCloud data.
  • Purchase records at RevenueCat: for as long as needed to provide your purchases and to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
  • Support emails: as described in Section 8.

12. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Because we don't have an account system, most of your data exists only on your device and you control it directly.

To exercise your rights regarding purchase data or support emails, contact lailali.apps@gmail.com. We will answer within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country of residence.

13. Children

The App is not directed at children under 14. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it.

14. Security

Your data stays on your device and is protected by iOS security features, including device encryption and Face ID locks for the tags and pins you choose. Connections to RevenueCat, Apple and the platforms you save from are encrypted (HTTPS).

15. Changes to this policy

If we change how the App handles data, for example by adding a new service, we will update this policy and the dates above before the change takes effect, and notify you in the App where appropriate.
